Kuta Hotels

Of all of the beautiful beaches in Bali, Kuta Beach remains the most popular beach to visit to relax, surf and enjoy the tropical holiday feeling. This is due to its location as well as its beauty and its length stretching out as far as the eye can see and offering many different scenes along its sandy stretches. Kuta Beach is usually considered to be the stretch of beach from Tuban up to Legian although realistically the beach runs all the way through Legian, Seminyak and onto Petitenget which is all the same beach running all the way up the bay. Kuta beach as well as the neighboring beaches offers white sands, warm waters and a thriving surf culture which has lead to venders and local style beach cafes which are a popular place to relax with refreshments and enjoy the sunset or the sun in the day. There is plenty of shade as well under the palms that stretch the whole way down the beach.

The waves along the beach are perfect for first time beginners and advanced surfers alike, on smaller days the surf is perfect for learning and even on larger days a lesson can be carried out on the swash area where the waves are small. There are however often case when inexperienced swimmers and surfers run into trouble on Kuta beach, thankfully there is a great lifeguard team trained and maintained by the Australian companies that fund this service available to all. The mina problems occur when there is a large swell or a strong rip current heading straight out to see. Experienced surfers can struggle with this but finding yourself whipped out behind the largest breaking waves on the beach can be terrifying for a beginner or holiday maker. Even on a big swell there can be long ‘lulls’ of 30minutes in between ‘sets’ of very large waves so be sure to check the swell report, ask an instructor or at least watch the waves for half an hour before jumping in.

Refreshments are very cheap on the beach and include everything from the beer to fresh fruit and local food. The vibe is always relaxed and enjoyable where a multicultural collection of people relax and soak up the sun. Generally speaking the Tuban area of the beach is usually quiet and then around the McDonald area of Kuta beach you will find a lively scene of backpackers and surfers which is complements the Poppies area located just inland. Then from here north you will that the atmosphere becomes more relaxed and quiet as you pass ‘halfway’ and then on through Legian there is largely a family scene which turns into a sophisticated couples scene once you reach Seminyak. All of these areas have parking, toilet facilities and refreshments. Kuta beach is also popular due to its convenient positioning close to the airport and the ever growing tourist epicenter of the Kuta district. Complete Kuta Hotels and Kuta Accommodation reviews.
