Visit Malaysia Year 2007

Malaysia's national tourism campaign " Malaysia Truly Asia " promotes as to be the home of the unique Asian cultures with the many  indigenous groups including Malay, Chinese and Indian. It is one of the most popular travel destination in the South East Asian Countries. Malaysia is beautiful country for vacation, holiday and business offering the most pleasant and hassle-free country in the Southeast Asia. The country boast with the superb beaches such in Penang, Langkawi and Johor Bahru, mountains and nations parks in some of the Malaysia's regions.

Malaysia tourism has been promoting the "Malaysia Truly Asia " tagline campaign and has targeted to have 20 million visitors during 2007. The majority of travelers were from Asia including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, China, Japan and India. While western travelers are expecting to have 885,000 travelers from the West, 150,000 from the United States.

The travel destination within Malaysia will include Kuala Lumpur with its Petronas Twin Towers, the Central Market, Batu Caves; Sabah state in Borneo with its adventure tours and Sipadan Island; Kinabalu with its Sepilok orangutan sanctuary, whitewater rafting;  Malacca with its historical states,  old temples and reminders of European colonial; Pahang; Penang, Langkawi and many more.

Tourism Minister Adnan Mansor  said cheap air travel would be crucial to boosting the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign. The government discussed with Tiger Airways to fly from Singapore to major tourist destinations on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. Meanwhile to boost the travelers from Australia, Jetstar subsidiary of Qantas Airways plans to start direct flights between Sydney and Kuala Lumpur.

The government is also expecting to have more chartered flights from Europe and other countries to lure those long haul travelers.
